Just before the Khmer New Year celebrations of mid-April 2017, the grade 7 secondary students completed their first semester examinations. It is wonderful to remember that just over one year ago, the School Leadership Team took the brave decision to launch the secondary school project even though we had reached only grade one of primary school and had no new classrooms to use. The positive experience of the Happy Learning Community formed by teachers and students over the last five months has confirmed that the decision was also a wise one. Through an active and participatory learning process across all the subjects from Science, Khmer, Art, Agriculture and Physical Education, the young boys and girls are developing fast and already realize that they are now the leaders and models for the students who will follow them next year. Remedial Khmer classes have helped the weaker students catch up.
