On 10th to 16th of November, Miss Katherine Cheung, primary school principal, together with three primary school coordinators, Miss Sin Saya, Miss Yav Sela, and Miss Tor Kakada, flew to Hong Kong to gain new experiences with schools in Hong Kong. The objectives of the visit are to broaden the perspective of the teachers regarding the different teaching approaches used in schools outside Cambodia; and to observe the classroom displays, teaching approaches, and facilitation of activities inside a learning environment most particularly for Physical Education and Visual Arts classes.

The team visited the following schools: Our Lady of China Catholic Primary School, Kowloon Bay St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, and Pun U Association Wah Yan Primary School. During their visit to the following schools, the three coordinators were able to have a look into the primary level curriculum for Physical Education and Visual Arts subjects. Apart from this, they were able to observe actual classes. Also, they were able to see how the teachers and staff conduct assemblies and facilitate during recess time.

Originally, the team was scheduled to also visit Marymount Primary School, Ng Wah Catholic Primary School, and Castle Peak Catholic Primary School. However, due to the instability situation in Hong Kong, the visits were hindered. Despite not being able to visit them, sincere appreciation is extended to the said schools for the arrangements they made for XJS.

Alongside the school visits, the team was also able to enjoy their stay in Hong Kong as they did some side trips to The Peak, Central, and some shopping malls.

Overall, gratitude and appreciation go to the people and schools who made our visits successful and meaningful. Our sincerest thanks to all the schools in Hong Kong for welcoming Xavier Jesuit School teachers.
