On 25th February afternoon, there was a friendship soccer match between the students of Xavier Jesuit School primary school department (XJS PS) and Phnom Bak Primary School. Excitement filled the air as this was the first time for XJS PS students to have a soccer match with other school.
XJS PS soccer team started their training January 2022. The students tried hard and practiced as much as they could. Before the match, they even gave up their favorite spicy food to maintain the best condition of their bodies.
In the end, Phnum Bak team was victorious. But, because this is a friendship match, it doesn’t matter who wins or loose. The most important thing is that all of them had fun and cultivated their friendship with one another. The students knew that they were supported by many people and this match was so meaningful for them to develop their skills.
We were honored to have the help and support from our PTA parents. Some parents became the MC and helped to maintain the order of the students’ supporter groups. We were also comforted to see our students picking the trash self-consciously before they left.
All of us are looking forward to having a second match in the future.
