On the 16th of October, both the Primary and Secondary Schools kicked-off a new school year at Xavier Jesuit School in Sisophon. For the old students, it was an exciting day to return to school again after two long months of holidays. There were smiles on their faces as they greeted and met up with old friends again. When asked if they enjoyed their long holidays, most said: “It was boring being at home for the last two months.” They all missed school so much as the holidays was quite long. They were glad to be back in the classroom learning new things and interacting with teachers and friends again.
It was a different picture for the new kindergarten students because this was the very first time they left the caring embrace of their family. There were tears on the first day and even after four days the tears did not stop. Being away from home for the first time and being in strange company have not been so easy for these little princes and princesses. Hopefully, in a week or so they will get used to being away from their family and begin to enjoy classroom activities and learning the alphabet.
