On the 2nd of September 2014, Br. Ham Toeun and Fr. Ashley Evans inspected the reinforcement work carried out to strengthen the sides of the roads. This work was necessary to prevent erosion from heavy rains or rising flood waters. It involved scraping a layer of earth from the adjacent rice field and packing it against the red earth on the sides of the road. This earth is more glutinous and sticky than red earth and so more resistant to erosion. The next step in the reinforcement work will be to plant grass all along the banks of the road and to plant a row of Acacia trees on both sides. Facebook. Xavier Jesuit School Cambodia
