Xavier Jesuit School – In the afternoon of April 22, 2025, the school leadership team, students, teachers, and staff of all levels of Xavier Jesuit School participated in a Mass to pray for Pope Francis, who passed away at the age of 88 on April 21, 2025 at 7:35 a.m. due to an illness.
Led by Fr. Oh Indon, Fr. Mark Lopez and Fr. San (Do Thanh Nguyen), the Jesuit priests, they explained to all that the life path that Pope Francis has pioneered, dedicated and focused on working on global issues like climate change, the poverty, peace and social justice, etc. Father Mark mentioned that Pope Francis has earned the respect and love of the general public because of his simplicity. By all these remarks, the school would like to show respect and admiration for what he has done for humanity, a role model that we could learn from. All the leaders, teachers, staff and students burned incense and prayed for his repose of soul.
His death is a great loss of the entire world, with a strong sense of morality who devoted his entire life leading the Catholic Church and to the service of the marginalised.
