On the 13th of May 2016 from 7.00 a.m. in the morning until 5.00 p.m. in the evening, the Xavier Jesuit School Project hosted a soccer competition for the four primary schools in the Teuk Thla cluster of primary schools.   Six teams of grade 6 students participated from the four schools, Banoy, Teuk Thla, Phnom Bak and Keap.   Each team was accompanied by their local teacher.  The Phnom Bak team had the most vocal local supporters.  Mr.  Chamroeun Tanh served as the calm and impartial referee.  Four teams qualified for the semi-finals from the two pools of three teams. The two teams in the final were Phnom Bak A and Keap.  The match ended in a draw so final result was decided by a dramatic penalty shoot-out.  The Keap team emerged victorious.   Next year we hope that the schools will allow a girls’ soccer competition at the same time as the boys’ one!
