On a cool Sunday morning, at 7.30am, the grade 7 boys soccer team from Xavier Jesuit School took to the field in a friendship game against Enfant Du Mekong’s Junior boys team. The weather was perfect for the first encounter between the two schools on the football pitch and both teams were eager to compete.
The teams played on the newly lined pitch, nine players versus nine players. The home side kept their opposition scoreless for the majority of the first half, however, the Enfant Du Mekong team’s strength and training together gave them the edge over the Xavier Jesuit boys in the end.
Both teams were well supported by fans from their schools and all the students enjoyed the game. Congratulations to Enfant Du Mekong who took home the trophy this month. Hopefully, it will be back at Xavier Jesuit School after the next game! A big thank you to all who helped in organising the debut of Xavier Jesuit School boys football team! #XJSfootballtheonlywayisup.
