On Tuesday the 14th of October 2014, Mr. Martin Maindiaux, the Country Director of Enfants du Mékong, brought the Xavier Jesuit School team on a guided tour of the various educational programs taking place at the site of their school at O-Ambel in Svay Sisophon town, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia. Years of hard-earned experience and respectful relations with the local teachers and educational authorities have enabled Enfants du Mékong to make a significant impact on the quality of education received by all the students, primary and secondary, who participate in their programs. Good library, computer and language learning facilities enable large numbers of students to improve their learning skills and take responsibility for their own progress. A system of caring house-parents enable orphans and poor students from remote areas to live on campus. Mr. Martin and his team continually reflect on and evaluate their programs to make sure that they are responding to the real needs of modern Khmer youth. They also provide music, arts and sports education. Their administration is committed to transparency and accountability, two values promoted now by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
