On the 6th of September 2019, eleven teachers from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) led by Mr. Meak Kamerane, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Professor Kevin Kwang-Hwan Jung from Sogang University Korea, provided professional development to the Xavier Jesuit School (XJS) teachers.
The very experienced and professional teachers from RUPP helped the XJS teachers in six different subject areas. These subject areas are: Mathematics, Physic, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology and Khmer language. The major aspect of the Professional Development course centres on practical experiments within each subject area. They also brought chemical and science equipment and materials to allow the teachers to have practical experience of testing these experiments out on the day.
It was the first Professional Development delivered by teachers from the RUPP and ran for one whole day. We hope that the next one will be three or four days long as XJS teachers found the day very fruitful and valuable.
