Last week saw the grade 7 and 8 students at XJS School face their end of semester exams. Understandably, the students were anxious about their assessments as they grew to understand the importance of showing the progress that they are making. They soon settled into the exam atmosphere, taking every opportunity to do some last minute revision….even on the bike ride to school! The exams covered material from the last five months and the students sat three exams each day. The results of these exams will help inform our teachers as to areas that the students need to focus on.

Following the end of the exams, this weekend Xavier Jesuit School grade 7 and grade 8 students had their annual History excursion.

Grade 7 students visited the temples at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap and the grade 8 students visited Banteay Chmar temple complex, a smaller but also beautiful set of temples and ruins.

Their History teachers had prepared activity booklets to help the students with their exploration. The students were split into teams to search for facts and sketch different landmarks around the sites.

The students prepared and shared their lunch together at the temples and enjoyed discovering the different areas of the beautiful temples.

Grade 7 and 8 students both greatly enjoyed the day despite a few suffering from car sickness on the bus! Thank you to all the staff who helped out on these excursions!
