Test 4

As part of their Mathematics project, the grades 7 & 8 students at Xavier Jesuit School dedicated the whole month of February, to construct a bridge using ice-cream sticks and glue. Each Saturday for four weeks they had gather in their classrooms and our canteen after school hours to work in groups designing and constructing their best and strongest bridge.

On Saturday 3rd of March 2018, the bridge testing took place at Xavier Jesuit School and there was much excitement for all the students as they watch their bridge being put to the test with weight added until it breaks. Most of the bridges were able to handle over 10 kg with the strongest one being able to handle over 30 kg of weight. It was a fun and creative project for all the students. Now it is time to go back to the design phase to see which shape and design will be able to sustain heavy load when put to the test again.
