On the 23rd of May 2017 at 10.30 a.m., Dr. Michael Duffy, Dr. Jane Bleasdale and Fr. Ben Hur Navarro S.J. from San Francisco University, School of Education visited Xavier Jesuit School.  The purpose of this visit was to explore possible ways in which the USF programs in Catholic Educational Leadership could interact with the evolving teacher training programs of the Xavier Jesuit Teacher Resource Centre.   Fr. Ashley explained that he is currently in dialogue with both the local Primary Teacher Training College in Banteay Meanchey Province and the Sovannaphumi Cambodian private school network  concerning a four-month teacher training program run for University graduates who teach at Primary or Middle School level.   Dr. Jane explained that the Catholic Educational Leadership graduate program at USF involves concrete immersion experiences in leadership training for these graduates in poor schools.  The meeting agreed to run a pilot project next January at Xavier Jesuit School for a few days training on Ignatian Pedagogy with a view to launching a full 10 days program for teachers in Catholic schools in Cambodia in August 2018.
