On Friday the 10th of March from 15.30 to 16.30, seven bank officials from ACLEDA bank came to meet all our school staff to explain their new system of bank charges. All our staff receive their monthly salaries directly into their personal accounts. Most staff members use an ATM card to withdraw money and have been confused at the way in which ACLEDA calculate their bank charges. Staff members who receive a salary higher than $200.00 per month also pay income tax which is deducted monthly by Jesuit Service Cambodia and paid directly to the National Taxation Office from the Xavier Jesuit School account. The ACLEDA bank also explained about their new policies for 2017, interest rates and life insurance policies. For many of our staff members, this was the first time that they heard about any of these matters.
