On the 28th of January at 8.30 a.m., Fr. Bonet led a delegation from the Japanese Camboren group to visit the Xavier Jesuit School project.  Some members had already visited the project one year ago.  They were surprised to see rapid development both of the Community Learning Centre and of the Dey Lo School.  Ms. Sonai explained the various educational activities in both places while Fr. Ashley outlined the long-term plans for the project and its historical evolution.   The Camboren group has supported the Jesuit Service Cambodia’s Meta Karuna projects in Banteay Meanchey Province.  Ms. Sok Eng, the JSC coordinator, has consistently insisted on a strong education component to all the social programs.  The Camboren group feel that the emphasis of the Meta Karuna programs on serving the poor and disabled children in remote areas could interact well as a sort of out-reach program of the Xavier Jesuit School project.   It might be good to open hostels for poor and disabled students sooner rather than later.
