Each day after class, during the month of November, Ms. Lucia Wong, our Teacher Trainer, meets with our three kindergarten teachers from last years (Ms. Thavy, Ms. Sela and Ms. Sona) and our six new kindergarten teachers (Ms. Visal, Ms. Maly, Ms. Kolap, Ms. Srey Pich, Ms. Kunthea and Ms. Saonit). During this training session, the teachers reflect on the morning’s experience of teaching to see what was effective and what was not and to plan for an improved lesson plan the following morning. Ms. Lucia also helps our two experienced English language teachers, (Mr. Socheat and Mr. Sovann) to plan and prepare their lessons for three levels of young students who come to the Community Learning Centre in the afternoons for English class. We hope to send two of our kindergarten to be trained over the next two years as primary school teachers at the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Teacher Training College in December. They will not receive a teaching post from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport but will receive the qualification as recognized primary teachers for work in other schools
