From the 5th to the 12th of July 2015, a team of six educators from the Xavier Jesuit School Project in Cambodia participated in the Workshop on Ignatian School Leadership at Tagate, outside Manila in the Philippines. The Basic Education Commission of Jesuit Education in the Philippines offers this formation program to education leaders involved in Jesuit secondary and primary schools across the whole of Asia Pacific. So our Cambodian team had the chance to learn from leadership experiences in Jesuit schools in China, Indonesia, Australia, Timor Leste and the Philippines. Fr. Johnny Go led the workshop. The Cambodian team included Ms. Ao Thavy, Kindergarten Coordinator, and Ms. Soun Saory, Primary School Adviser, together with Mr. Paul Nguyen Do Thanh S.J, Technical Officer, and Fr. Quyen Vu S.J., Assistant Director. Ms. Lucia Wong, our Teaching Training Officer also accompanied the team. Br. Chour Damo S.J., the Khmer scholastic studying in Manila joined the team as the sixth participant. Now all that remains is to apply the practical principles of Ignatian discernment to school problems without bias or dependence on unrecognized feelings or ideas!
