From the 13-15th of July 2015, six “experts” in education, engineering and architecture came help the Xavier Jesuit School Project team review the existing Master Plan. These experts included Ms. Sumitra Phongsathorn, the chair-person of Catholic education in Thailand, Br. John D’Cruz, Coordinator of the La Salle Learning Centres in Malaysia, Dr. Marie Emmit, former Dean of Education at the Australian Catholic University, Mr. Neville Harphman, an experienced civil engineer and businessman from Australia, Mr. Goncalo Lencastre, a Portuguese architect working on school projects in Timor Leste and Mr. Roland Sharpe Flores, an American architect teaching in Singapore. The expert consultants invited the school team to revisit their long-term dreams and goals for the project and to express these in an agreed written form as this would allow better advice on how to translate these dreams and goals into shapes and spaces which would help fulfill them. The team and experts then shared these revised goals and dreams with the members of the EMLT, DCT, LPT and our teachers in order to receive feed-back. The Director of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Education Office, Mr. Chhoeuy Channa, with four other Provincial education officials from the Primary, Secondary, Non-formal and Administration offices attended the final sessions and contributed to the sharing and reflection process. They noted that they also work from a common vision and mission statements from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, but they have to translate these into achievable goals at the local level. It is clear that our Master Plan will have to revised as a result of this process.
