On the 1st of December 2014, the Xavier Jesuit School Project assumed responsibility for the kindergarten school in the poor village of Dey Lo outside Sisophon under a new agreement with the Parish of St. Francis Xavier. After two years, the kindergarten will be handed back to the Parish to run. Ms. Soum Saory, representing the Parish and Ms. Phon Sonai, representing the Xavier Jesuit School project, explained this new arrangement to the local village and commune chiefs and to the parents and guardians of the children. Xavier Jesuit School will supervise experienced teachers who will help to train the local community teachers during this period. The Korean NGO, Joy of Sharing has been a strong supporter of this kindergarten school and its long-term cooperation with the Parish for the development of the school will not be affected by this temporary arrangement!
