2

We would like to inform all interested in classical music and, more importantly, all those interested in the work of the Jesuits in Cambodia, of the Classical Music Concert to be presented in support of Xavier Jesuit School, now in the initial planning process.

We Jesuits in Cambodia have undertaken to build a primary, junior and senior high school in Svay Sisophon, Banteay Meanchey Province, one of the poorest regions in Cambodia.  The name we have chosen for this school is “Xavier Jesuit School.”  We envisage it to be a quality school catering particularly to the needs of the rural poor.

We have organized a Classical Music Concert as a way to introduce this school to the wider public.  We have invited two well-known musicians, Mark Kosower, celloist, and Oh Jee-Won, pianist, to present at this concert.  This concert will be given at PPIIA (Phnom Penh International Institute of the Arts), located near Wat Lang Ka and Independence Monument (No. 134A, St. 51) beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 June.  (Sorry, tickets for Monday, 9 June, are already sold out.)  Tickets cost $5.00 each.  Inquiry about tickets and more information is available at:  tel:  095 994 046 and jesuitconcert@gmail.com   Tickets may also be purchased at CRAFT PEACE CAFÉ, (No. 14, St. 392, Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh; tel: 012 436 806) located near Boeung Keng Kang High School (No. 14, St. 392, Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh; tel: 012 436 806).

Please come and enjoy an evening of beautiful classical music and, at the same time learn more about Xavier Jesuit School.
