On the 10th October 2016 at 7.30 a.m., Fr. Quyen Vu and the acting Principal, Mr. Mouk Rath, opened the three week “curriculum workshop” for the team of part-time teachers who will teach our first class of secondary students in grade seven.  This class will start on the 1st of November at the Community Learning Centre while awaiting the classrooms under construction.   The city education office and the local schools have helped to make this process of starting our secondary school a smooth one.  Thirty students have enrolled for this class and seven disadvantaged girls from remote villages have received the first XJS full scholarships to also join this class.  Five of these girls come from Banteay Meanchey Province and two come from Siem Reap province.  They have been recommended by the Coordinators of the Meta Karuna Programs  of Jesuit Service Cambodia.  They will stay in the house of our Morality/Civics teacher, Ms. Or Savin who will supervise them.  This grade 7 class will follow the guidelines and curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport while supplementing the lessons with extra learning activities and processes.
