Fr. Ashley Evans

My name is Ashley Evans.  I am an Irish Jesuit priest working in Cambodia since 1993.  I was educated at Belvedere College in Dublin and was a leader in the Malahide Sea Scout group for many years before joining the Jesuits in 1980.  I taught Mathematics at the Jesuit school, Coláiste Iognáid, in Galway for two years and then became a teacher trainer in the Khmer refugee camps in Thailand in 1986.  After ordination, I became a teacher trainer in Mathematics at the Royal University of Phnom Penh and I stayed teaching there for twenty years.  At the same time, I also worked as Director of the Catholic Church Student Centre in Phnom Penh.  For the last seven years I have also taught the History of Philosophy at the RUPP.  I am very happy now to have moved to Banteay Meanchey Province to start the new Jesuit Education Project here.
