On the 1st of May 2017 at 8.00 a.m., Ms. Nathsuda Bunkhammoon launched a tree-planting initiative with the grade 7 students of Xavier Jesuit School.   She explained to the students the importance of preserving the native hard-wood trees in Cambodia and showed the students how to plant and take care of these trees.   Almost 150 hard-wood trees were planted in the morning.   Mr. Chat, our Works Supervisor and Agriculture teacher had already prepared the land with our guards, Mr. Sok and Mr. Chet.  Ms. Nathsuda was accompanied by her parents, Mr. Phaipan and Ms. Sotheavy, former workers with Jesuit Service Cambodia and by her brother.  In this way the whole family modeled an integrated ecology of nature and the human person, a favourite theme of Pope Francis!  In the quiet of the evening, Fr. Ashley helped to water all these trees!
