On Friday evening, the 2nd of June 2017, the teachers and staff of Xavier Jesuit School gathered to celebrate the wonderful contribution that Ms. Deirdre Ryan has made to the project over the last 18 months.  On behalf of all involved in the project, Fr. Ashley thanked her for her efforts to help train the kindergarten and primary teachers, her work setting up the programs of the Community Learning Centre in a professional manner and her introduction of the jolly phonics English teaching program to the children of Dey Lo and Phnom Bak.   Ms. Deirdre’s working day started at 6.30 in the morning as she welcomed the kindergarten students and finished at 7.30 in the evening after her last class teaching the youth of Phnom Bak.   At the end of her stay, she seemed to know all the hundreds of children on our programs by name.  All the staff and teachers at XJS wished Ms. Deirdre a safe and happy return to Ireland.
