On the 1st of June 2017 at 7.30 a.m. in the morning, Ms. Sela and Ms. Kunthea, our two primary school coordinators from Dey Lo and Phnom Bak, addressed both groups of attentive parents and guardians assembled in the new multi-purpose hall.   After a lively presentation and discussion of the rights of the child led by our family coordinator, Ms. Sinat, all the kindergarten and primary classes came across to the hall and sat in thirteen separate groups with their respective teachers.  The children remained reasonably quiet despite their excitement.  Then the parents of each class were invited to join these groups and engage an art activity with their own children and their teachers.  This activity was followed by two games of pass the band using a straw and three legged races with parents and their children.  The children then gathered all together at the front to sing three songs for their parents and guardians. Their voices nearly raised the roof. After which the parents were invited to join in a simple dance with the children.  The program ended with a short comment on the meaning of the day and then all parents and children enjoyed a simple snack before returning home.  Congratulations to our dedicated team of teachers who prepared and ran this special program by themselves!
